Back in Bhaktapur

With our hiking adventures completed, the rains came to Nagakot. We returned by bus to Bhaktapur where we witnessed women making offerings in their Hindu temples as part of a rice planting celebration. So we walked in the medieval streets of Bhaktapur and practiced our western religion: shopping. We bought the perfunctory Kamasutra deck of cards (love that seven of spades), Tiger balm, adapter, and watercolor painting of a village like the one we just came from. Before gathering our bags, we stopped at the Garuda Restaurant to eat king curd yogurt on the rooftop terrace as we looked across the palace and temple filled square. Goodbye hiking in Nargakot, goodbye medieval temple-filled medinas of Bhaktapur, goodbye Kathmandu with your North Face road intersecting with a pile of bricks.
Our Nepal adventure sadly comes to an end.
