Hiking Fever in Nagarkot

This morning we started hiking in the dark at 4:15 AM. We made it to the Lookout Tower by 5:10 to watch the sunrise and see the Langtang mountain range of the Himalayas. But, unfortunately all we saw were clouds. After a delicious breakfast of Nepali food and a short nap, we set out for our next hike down through the jungle below town. After lunch, it was time for our third and last hike of the day, on a trail that had panoramic views of the valley below. We came here to hike and hiking we did. Yesterday was 11.3 miles and today was 11.2 miles. Tomorrow I'm looking forward to sitting on a bus and resting.

Temples Galore in Nepal

There are three religions in Nepal: Hinduism, Buddhism, and Tourism. Earlier this week, in Kathmandu, we explored the many temples surrounded  by the ruins from the 2015 earthquake . The streets bustled with motorcycles and cars and the air was choked with pollution and dust. Amidst it all, an endless supply of temples, monasteries and palaces glittered. We've found the Nepali people to be incredibly friendly. And the dumplings and samosas are amazing.  A highlight was the medieval town of Bhaktapur with its four diverse squares filled with palaces and temples, our communion with a group of goat herder's and their flock, eating king curd yogurt on a rooftop terrace, and the monkey temple in Kathmandu for its religion  fervor and army of monkeys.
